99 Shares is written by Albert Gasull, editor. Every Sunday it takes the special situations a retail brokerage account can actually reach, such as tender offers, odd-lot priorities, exchange offers, squeeze-outs and liquidations, and works through one of them with the public filing open: the terms, the deadline that binds at the broker, the costs and the arithmetic.
How it is written
- Every number links to its primary filing.
- Times are given in New York time, with the market-local time beside them.
- Nothing is a recommendation. At most one sentence per issue gives the editor’s view, and it is labelled as such.
The author’s own trades
- The author trades a small personal account and discloses any position in a named issuer in the issue.
- He does not trade a security named in an issue from the time the issue is written until two trading days after it is sent.
- Closed positions go to the outcome record with fill prices and the realised result, losses included.
